Waiting On Wednesday #28

New WoWWaiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking The Spine.

It features each blogger’s most anticipated books.

This week, my pick is Uninvited (Uninvited #1) by Sophie Jordan

uninvited

“When Davy Hamilton’s tests come back positive for Homicidal Tendency Syndrome (HTS)-aka the kill gene-she loses everything. Her boyfriend ditches her, her parents are scared of her, and she can forget about her bright future at Juilliard. Davy doesn’t feel any different, but genes don’t lie. One day she will kill someone.

Only Sean, a fellow HTS carrier, can relate to her new life. Davy wants to trust him; maybe he’s not as dangerous as he seems. Or maybe Davy is just as deadly.

The first in a two-book series, Uninvited tackles intriguing questions about free will, identity, and human nature. Steeped in New York Times bestselling author Sophie Jordan’s trademark mix of gripping action and breathless romance, this suspenseful tale is perfect for fans of James Patterson, Michelle Hodkin, and Lisa McMann.”

Why I Can’t Wait:

This is a  new series from Sophie Jordan, the author of the Firelight series, enough said. I know this would be awesome! And the story seems very interesting, I’m so curious about the the kill gene.

Waiting On Wednesday #26

New WoWWaiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking The Spine.

It features each blogger’s most anticipated books.

This week, I decided to pick three books since it has been a long time from my last post. I’m allowed to do that, right? LOL!

My picks are:

here without you

1. Here Without You (Between the Lines #4) by Tammara Webber

Summary from Goodreads:

“Everyone has secrets.
Some are buried so deep, their existence is forgotten.
But a secret never told can turn into a lie.
And in love, a lie is one thing:
Poison.

Reid’s in love with Dori, though she hasn’t told her parents that she’s fallen hard for the guy they’d forbidden her to see. Now she’s leaving for college, and Reid’s promise not to push her to go public is wearing thin, especially when she can’t – or won’t – return those three important words he wants to hear.

Five years ago, Brooke and Reid were a Thing. That relationship is long gone, detonated amid allegations of cheating – but they still share a secret that would stun everyone they know and alter public perception of them both if it ever comes out. And it’s about to do just that.

Here Without You is the fourth, final installment in the Between the Lines series, which includes: Between the Lines, Where You Are, and Good For You.”

Why I Can’t Wait:

OMG, I can’t wait! I can’t wait! I can’t wait! This is one of my favorite new adult series and I literally can’t wait for this final installment. I know it would be awesome! I’ve learned to love Reid and I’m a bit scared because Brooke will enter again in his life. I want Reid and Dori to be together!!!

Expected Publication:

August 6th 2013, Kindle edition

of beast and beauty

2. Of Beast and Beauty by Stacey Jay

Summary from Goodreads:

“In the beginning was the darkness, and in the darkness was a girl, and in the girl was a secret…

In the domed city of Yuan, the blind Princess Isra, a Smooth Skin, is raised to be a human sacrifice whose death will ensure her city’s vitality. In the desert outside Yuan, Gem, a mutant beast, fights to save his people, the Monstrous, from starvation. Neither dreams that together, they could return balance to both their worlds.

Isra wants to help the city’s Banished people, second-class citizens despised for possessing Monstrous traits. But after she enlists the aid of her prisoner, Gem, who has been captured while trying to steal Yuan’s enchanted roses, she begins to care for him, and to question everything she has been brought up to believe.

As secrets are revealed and Isra’s sight, which vanished during her childhood, returned, Isra will have to choose between duty to her people and the beast she has come to love.”

Why I Can’t Wait:

This looks like a good retelling of The Beauty and the Beast! It’s my favorite fairy tale of all time, I will read any retelling of it! And I’ve been a huge fan of Stacey Jay because of her work, Juliet Immortal, a retelling of Romeo and Juliet, which I absolutely loved!

the house of hades 3. The House of Hades (Heroes of Olympus #4) by Rick Riordan

Summary from Goodreads:

“At the conclusion of The Mark of Athena, Annabeth and Percy tumble into a pit leading straight to the Underworld. The other five demigods have to put aside their grief and follow Percy’s instructions to find the mortal side of the Doors of Death. If they can fight their way through the Gaea’s forces, and Percy and Annabeth can survive the House of Hades, then the Seven will be able to seal the Doors both sides and prevent the giants from raising Gaea. But, Leo wonders, if the Doors are sealed, how will Percy and Annabeth be able to escape?

They have no choice. If the demigods don’t succeed, Gaea’s armies will never die. They have no time. In about a month, the Romans will march on Camp Half-Blood. The stakes are higher than ever in this adventure that dives into the depths of Tartarus.”

Why I Can’t Wait:

No explanation needed. If you really know me, you’d know that I’m a fan f Rick Riordan and all his books! Of course, I’ve been waiting for this one, it has been a year from the third!

Waiting On Wednesday #2: The Iron Traitor

New WoWWaiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking The Spine. It features each blogger’s most anticipated books.

This week, my pick is The Iron Traitor (The Iron Fey: Call of the Forgotten #2) by Julie Kagawa

iron traitor

IN THE REAL WORLD, WHEN YOU VANISH INTO THIN AIR FOR A WEEK, PEOPLE TEND TO NOTICE

After his unexpected journey into the lands of the fey, Ethan Chase just wants to get back to normal. Well, as “normal” as you can be when you see faeries every day of your life. Suddenly the former loner with the bad reputation has someone to try for-his girlfriend, Kenzie. Never mind that he’s forbidden to see her again.

But when your name is Ethan Chase and your sister is one of the most powerful faeries in the Nevernever, “normal” simply isn’t to be. For Ethan’s nephew, Keirran, is missing, and may be on the verge of doing something unthinkable in the name of saving his own love. Something that will fracture the human and faery worlds forever, and give rise to the dangerous fey known as the Forgotten. As Ethan’s and Keirran’s fates entwine and Keirran slips further into darkness, Ethan’s next choice may decide the fate of them all.”

Why I Can’t Wait:

Duh, I don’t have to explain right? Haha! I’ll read any books from Julie Kagawa! 🙂 However, I don’t want to feel about the cover, since that guy is blonde, so it’s very much possible that he’s Keirran, right? But the guy on the cover seems scary.. and older. And I don’t like his glossy lips. LOL! 🙂

Waiting On Wednesday #24: Faking It by Cora Carmack

New WoWWaiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking The Spine. It features each blogger’s most anticipated books.

This week, my pick is Faking It by Cora Carmack

faking it

“Mackenzie “Max” Miller has a problem. Her parents have arrived in town for a surprise visit, and if they see her dyed hair, tattoos, and piercings, they just might disown her. Even worse, they’re expecting to meet a nice, wholesome boyfriend, not a guy named Mace who has a neck tattoo and plays in a band. All her lies are about to come crashing down around her, but then she meets Cade.

Cade moved to Philadelphia to act and to leave his problems behind in Texas. So far though, he’s kept the problems and had very little opportunity to take the stage. When Max approaches him in a coffee shop with a crazy request to pretend to be her boyfriend, he agrees to play the part. But when Cade plays the role a little too well, they’re forced to keep the ruse going. And the more they fake the relationship, the more real it begins to feel.”

Why I Can’t Wait:

Duh. This is Cade’s story, enough reason, right? Haha! I mean, if you’ve read the first book, you’ll know Cade! LOL! I’m so excited for his own happy ending! I hope this will be as good as the first, or better. 🙂

Waiting On Wednesday #23: Just One Year by Gayle Forman

New WoWWaiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking The Spine. It features each blogger’s most anticipated books.

This week, my pick is Just One Year (Just One Day, #2) by Gayle Forman

just one year

“Companion to JUST ONE DAY. It will be in Willem’s POV.

“Can you fall in love in just one day? Can you become a new person? How about in just one year? In JUST ONE DAY and its companion novel JUST ONE YEAR, sheltered American good girl Allyson “LuLu” Healey and easygoing actor Willem De Ruiter are about to find out against a guidebook-worthy array of foreign backdrops. Equal parts romance, coming-of-age-tale, mystery and travel romp (with settings that span from England’s Stratford upon Avon to Paris to Amsterdam to India’s Bollywood) JUST ONE DAY and JUST ONE YEAR show how in looking for someone else, you just might wind up finding yourself.”

Why I Can’t Wait:

Because I’ve read Just One Day, and I’m eagerly waiting for this second book! Even though I didn’t love the first book, I know and I’m sure that I will love the second because it’s Will’s POV!!!

Waiting On Wednesday #22: Invisibility by Andrea Cremer and David Levithan

New WoWWaiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking The Spine. It features each blogger’s most anticipated books.

This week, my pick is Invisibility by Andrea Cremer and David Levithan

invisibility

“Stephen has been invisible for practically his whole life — because of a curse his grandfather, a powerful cursecaster, bestowed on Stephen’s mother before Stephen was born. So when Elizabeth moves to Stephen’s NYC apartment building from Minnesota, no one is more surprised than he is that she can see him. A budding romance ensues, and when Stephen confides in Elizabeth about his predicament, the two of them decide to dive headfirst into the secret world of cursecasters and spellseekers to figure out a way to break the curse. But things don’t go as planned, especially when Stephen’s grandfather arrives in town, taking his anger out on everyone he sees. In the end, Elizabeth and Stephen must decide how big of a sacrifice they’re willing to make for Stephen to become visible — because the answer could mean the difference between life and death. At least for Elizabeth.”

Why I Can’t Wait:

I’m sure this will be a great one because David Levithan and Andrea Cremer worked together to produce this. They are both very good writers! I can guess that it will be in two Point of Views since there are also two authors. And I also love the wonderful cover! It looks really cool! Yay! I can’t wait for this one!

Waiting On Wednesday #21: The Eternity Cure by Julie Kagawa

New WoWWaiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking The Spine. It features each blogger’s most anticipated books.

This week, my pick is The Eternity Cure (Blood of Eden, #2) by Julie Kagawa

eternity cure

“Allison Sekemoto has vowed to rescue her creator, Kanin, who is being held hostage and tortured by the psychotic vampire Sarren. The call of blood leads her back to the beginning—New Covington and the Fringe, and a vampire prince who wants her dead yet may become her wary ally.

Even as Allie faces shocking revelations and heartbreak like she’s never known, a new strain of the Red Lung virus that decimated humanity is rising to threaten human and vampire alike.”

Why I Can’t Wait:

Is it enough to say that I’m a fan of Julie Kagawa? LOL! I love her and all her books, she’s an amazing writer. The first book, Immortal Rules, really surprised me a lot, it’s different, unusual vampire story. It’s really good, thrilling and darker. I’m really looking forward to this sequel! I’m Team Zeke!

Waiting On Wednesday #20: School Spirits by Rachel Hawkins

New WoWWaiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking The Spine. It features each blogger’s most anticipated books.

This week, my pick is School Spirits by Rachel Hawkins

school spirits

“Fifteen-year-old Izzy Brannick was trained to fight monsters. For centuries, her family has hunted magical creatures. But when Izzy’s older sister vanishes without a trace while on a job, Izzy’s mom decides they need to take a break.

Izzy and her mom move to a new town, but they soon discover it’s not as normal as it appears. A series of hauntings has been plaguing the local high school, and Izzy is determined to prove her worth and investigate. But assuming the guise of an average teenager is easier said than done. For a tough girl who’s always been on her own, it’s strange to suddenly make friends and maybe even have a crush.

Can Izzy trust her new friends to help find the secret behind the hauntings before more people get hurt?”

Why I Can’t Wait:

OMG! I was really surprised when I learned about this spin-off series!  The first thing that came to my mind is Cal. Am I going to read about him again? It is entitled School Spirits, so I’m hoping that I’ll get to read about Cal again? *sigh* I want a separate story about him. Anyway, I hope this spin-off series will be better than the Hex Hall series. 🙂
